We collect minimal information necessary to provide and improve the YBS GO experience. The data we collect falls into the following categories:
A. Precise Location Data
We request access to your device's GPS (Precise Location) to provide real-time bus navigation.
- Usage: To show your live position on the map, calculate distances to nearby bus stops, and provide accurate route suggestions.
- Scope: Accessed only while the app is in use (foreground). We do not track your location in the background.
- Data Safety: Location coordinates are processed locally on your device and are never stored on our servers or associated with any persistent user account.
B. Advertising ID & Analytics
Our app includes the Android permission com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID and uses Firebase Analytics.
- Purpose: Used strictly for analytics, crash reporting, and measuring app performance.
- No Personalized Ads: We do not use the Advertising ID to serve personalized or targeted advertisements.
- Data Collected: App interaction events (e.g., screen views), app instance identifiers, and basic device information (model, OS version).
C. Device & Notification Identifiers
To keep you updated with essential service alerts, we collect Push Tokens (Expo and Firebase Cloud Messaging).
D. Audio Access
The app plays pre-recorded voice announcements for bus stops. We do not request microphone permissions and do not record any audio from your device.
2. Third-Party Services and Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We use trusted third-party services solely to operate and improve the app. These services may collect information as described in their respective privacy policies:

3. Data Retention and Deletion Policy
We prioritize your control over your data. Because YBS GO does not require users to create an account, there is no centralized account to delete.
- No User Accounts: We do not mandate account creation, nor do we store personal identities on our servers.
- Local Data Deletion: Any saved stops, offline routes, or cached preferences are stored locally on your device. You can completely delete this data at any time by clearing the app's cache/storage in your device settings or by uninstalling the app.
- Analytics Data: Data collected via Firebase is anonymized, retained according to Google's standard retention policies, and automatically deleted when the retention window expires.
4. Your Controls and Choices
- Revoke Location: You can disable location access at any time via your device's Settings > Apps > YBS GO > Permissions.
- Manage Notifications: You can turn off push notifications in your device settings.
- Reset Advertising ID: You can reset or delete your Android Advertising ID by navigating to Settings > Privacy > Ads on your device.
5. Security
We use industry-standard encryption (SSL/TLS) to protect data transmitted between your device and our third-party services. While no electronic transmission is 100% secure, we continuously monitor and update our security practices to protect your information.
6. Children's Privacy
YBS GO is a general audience application and does not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age of 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take necessary actions to delete it.
